RECRUITING

"THE VISION TO SEE PLAYERS FOR WHO THEY CAN BE IN LIGHT OF WHO THEY ARE"
WHILE THIS PAGE IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION LET'S BE CLEAR ON WHAT RECRUITING IS:
WHAT RECRUITING IS - If you think it might be... it is.
Anything that you do, say, listen to, directly to/with the athlete or indirectly on behalf of the athlete to/with another, that might provide any athlete or athlete stakeholder the "idea" that you might be "interested" in an athlete joining your team.
If and when an athlete believes you want them on your team, you have RECRUITED that athlete, even if you did not initiate,  invite, or tell the athlete, or tell anyone who knows the athlete that you wanted them on your team.
You are responsible to be aware of when an athlete might feel invited to your team.  And if this occurs at the times when recruiting is not permitted, or spaces where it is prohibited YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE to change, clarify, and render the narrative transparent (by informing where needed, or correcting where needed).  If this occurs during a time that is permitted your responsibility is to proceed respectfully, dignifying the process by placing the PERSON before the ATHLETE.
WHEN THE PLAYER INITIATES CONVERSATION WITH YOU
OUTSIDE OF THE CLUB:  If the athlete or athlete stakeholder initiates, begins, the conversation of interest in your team with you, then you are permitted to answer questions, and provide direction for the athlete.  You should also alert the athlete that they need to be transparent and communicate with their current primary team coach.

INSIDE OF THE CLUB: If the athlete or athlete stakeholder initiates, begins, the conversation of interest in your team YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE to ask the athlete to report to their coach before moving forward, and YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE TO REPORT TO THE ATHLETE'S COACH.  If you are the Athlete's Coach receiving this information, you must now LEAD and MANAGE by communicating effectively with the athlete, the coach who has brought you the information and if needed your Director of Coaching.
WHEN IS RECRUITING NOT PERMITTED
OUTSIDE OF CLUB PLAYER:  During any time that your sanctioning league prohibits recruiting of players outside of your club.

WSA PLAYER: During all of the time that you and the player are members of WSA Soccer, at any time that the player's primary coach has not permitted you to contact and invite the player to your team (inviting to the team means inviting to any team event, a practice, a film session, a game, a team function or team social).

NOTE 1: AT ANY TIME other than after you have received WRITTEN (text/email) permission from the player's primary team coach to contact the player you are not permitted to recruit the player.

NOTE 2: Even if the player is bound for another club.  Your teammateship, honor, abidance, and respect for your clubmate is of higher priority than retaining the player.  Be Honorable.
